It is lightweight but you can build to a medium coverage. It doesn't leave my face looking dull or too matte. My sensitive skin tends to react poorly to many foundations, but not this one!     "I use Stila tinted moisturiser also. This foundation can be applied lightly or layerd for more coverage. It's creamy, light and goes on easily. I apply mine with a wedge but I either dampen the sponge with water then press it out with a cloth or spread a layer of moisturiser on the sponge. This keeps the sponge from soaking up the foundation. Sponge or fingers, this is one of those rare foundations that will leave your skin flawless. For spot coverage after applying it I tap a bit more foundation on spots with my finger. I've spent a nice vacation trying every foundation made ! Get this one. "
